I knew it since the beginning that true harvesting season will begin long after Bannerlord is out.įor now Bannerlord pretty much killed M&B since I can't have true enjoyment from either game anymore. So I need proper and established Fantasy or Historical setting to get into M&B which Bannerlord doesn't have yet. I hoped that minor factions at least will make it all more convincing but they are just mercs.
The fact that all factions are more or less equal and have similar amount of cities, castles, villages, lords are of similar size etc is so artificial and unrealistic. It's lore is too shallow to give a fuck about anyone save for butter tier memes, factions are too gamey and balanced, map is too artificial etc. I'm at the point in which I can't play Warband anymore since I miss many features and QOL from Bannerlord and I can't really play Bannerlord since I miss some features of Warband and it's design decisions (I hate perks from Bannerlord as design decision, no matter if they work or not) and of course Bannerlord doesn't yet have proper Overhaul mods.Īnd Calradia is really shit setting that makes it hard to get immersed into and so roleplay. Also they have versatile economic potential. Vaegirs can be fun but they need a lot of babysitting their soldiers rarely have shields and take tons of losses in battles so you need make sure village prosperity stays high so armies can be replenished. Even their nobles are copy-paste facegen templates from Swadians. They were literally a Swadian/Vaegir copy-paste faction cosplaying as Arabs for flavor expansion with Warband (and the Warband map sucked compared to the OG Mountainblade map). But their economy is pretty trash it's entirely hedged on dyes and dates, and village and town prosperity sucks because Desert Bandits are faster than their parties (they aren't Khergits) and their lands are so stretched out.
Their cavalry and Master Archers are underrated for sure though. Their militia and general rank infantry is mediocre at best (Vaegir with a few more shields), and their geographic territory is the worst area of Warband Calradia.
